SEATTLE – The Federal Bureau of Investigation – Seattle Office held its first FBI Citizens’ Academy in May and June with 29 businesses, civic and religious leaders chosen to participate.

Chinese Information and Service Center’s (CISC) Crime Victims Project Director, Alan Lai, was one of the participants.

Throughout the eight-week academy, CISC’s representative had the opportunity to share information and form partnerships with many other community organizations.
With a stronger network, CISC’s Crime Victim Service will be able to provide even more efficient services to crime victims.

The Crime Victim’s Service at CISC has served more than 1,600 crime victims since 1999. In 2003, its slogan “We speak your language. Your voice will be heard.” won a national award.

In 2004, it was the recipient of the National Crime Victim Service Award and this year it received the Outstanding Community Partnership Award from the Seattle University School of Law.
