Several local organizations are partnering to host the Seattle Candidate Forum on Education on September 19 from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM at Asian Counseling and Referral Services. The forum is intended to be an opportunity for local community members and partners to hear from Seattle mayoral, city council, and school board candidates on educational issues affecting Seattle families, including how the state budget will affect special needs students and children of color.
The event is hosted by several organizations working towards reform in the state, including Asian Counseling and Referral Services (ACRS), Coalition for Immigrants, Refugees and Communities of Color (CIRCC), Education Reform Now, League of Education Voters, Moms Rising, OneAmerica Votes, School’s Out Washington, Southeast Seattle Education Coalition, the Youth Development Executives of King County (YDEKC), and Equity in Education Coalition.
The event is free and open to the public. Those interested can RSVP here.
